The incident took place in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. It is reported that several armed men intended to take away the necklaces and rings from the boxer. The boxer himself received three bullet wounds.

He underwent emergency surgery. The surgeons removed the bullet fragments and declared that Easter would survive. A few hours later, Easter posted a short post on Twitter. "It hurts terribly."
