Kazakhstani heavyweight puncher signs contract with former Canelo promoter

Kazakh heavyweight Ivan Dychko (11-0, 11 KOs) has signed a co-promotion agreement with Probellum and Bulldog Boxing, bbabo.net reports.

The Kazakh boxer reacted optimistically to a new stage in his career. "I am 100 percent sure that Probellum and Bulldog Boxing will help me become a world champion. I am grateful for the trust, together we will try to make history," Dychko said.

Probellum is led by former Swiss banker Richard Schaefer. Previously, he was the director of Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. It is noted that Schaefer took an active part in the promotion of the young Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

In addition, Schaefer hosted the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) after leaving Golden Boy. With Probellum, he intends to have shows around the world, not just in the US. Probellum's star clients include Filipino Nonito Donaire, American Regis Prograis and Swede Badu Jack.

Schaefer appreciated Dychko's strength. "11 knockout wins in 11 fights speaks volumes about Ivan's skills and qualities. This is another big signing for Probellum. We look forward to Ivan's development under our leadership," he stated.

In addition, in October 2021, Probellum entered into a memorandum of cooperation with its German counterparts from Universum-Box.

One of the main goals of this collaboration is to promote the promising Kazakh heavyweight Zhan Kosobutsky (16-0, 15 KOs), who is compared with his eminent compatriot Gennady Golovkin (41-1-1, 36 KOs), the IBF and IBO world middleweight champion division.

Former Canelo Promoter Takes Over Kazakhstan's 'GGG Heavyweight'

As for Bulldog Boxing, this is the new company of the American promoter Greg Cohen. Greg Cohen Promotions partners with Hasim Rahman. Cohen founded a new company after his release in 2020. He spent six months in prison and received a three-year suspended sentence for fraud.

Recall that in December, Dychko knocked out Alexander Ustinov from Russia as part of a boxing evening in Nur-Sultan. This victory was his 11th stoppage in 11 pro fights. Dychko noted that now it is necessary to conquer the United States.
