NHL journalists named Ovechkin the main favorite for the title of player of the year

Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin is the main contender for the Hart Trophy, the best player in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) according to journalists. This was reported on the NHL website.

The Association of Professional Hockey Journalists held a vote, as a result of which 12 out of 16 participants put Ovechkin (74 points) in first place. The top five also included forward Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton, 20 points) and defenseman Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning, 15 points).
