Perm hosted the Match of Stars of student basketball and the Match of Legends

Russia (bbabo.net), - The traditional 13th All-Star Game of the Student Basketball Association (ASB) took place in Perm. Team "East" defeated the team "West" with a score of 155:149. The total score of the confrontation became 8:5 in favor of the "Eastern".

The basketball festival in the seven thousandth Molot Sports Palace in Perm took place on the birthday of the 1972 Olympic champion in Munich, the mentor of the Russian national team, twice silver medalist of the world championships (1994, 1998), and the head coach of the local Ural Great in his championship seasons of 2000/01, 2001/02 Sergei Alexandrovich Belov. The legend of world basketball would have turned 78 that day. It was Belov who at one time was one of those iconic figures who stood at the origins of the creation of the Student Basketball Association (ASB), which will celebrate its 15th anniversary in May this year.

36 players took part in the "Match of the Stars" - 12 men and 6 girls in each team. The starting quarter was held in a purely masculine format and very effectively - 55:47 in favor of the "West". The next ten minutes were divided approximately equally between the girls and the stronger sex. The gap between the "Western" has increased to 14 points (80:66).

After a long break, "Vostok" set off in pursuit, which turned out to be successful. The opponents started this quarter in mixed squads - three basketball players and two girls each in the combat fives of the teams. At the end of the meeting, which determined the result, only the guys remained on the court. Three and a half minutes before the end of the regular time of the match after a long-range hit by Ramil Badaev (Samara State Technical University), the "eastern" finally took the lead - 133:131. Towards the end of the game, Ion Urzyka (UrFU, Yekaterinburg) was unstoppable, who eventually became the top scorer of the winners - 22 points. As part of the "West" distinguished 208-centimeter MGU center Ivan Pyanzin (26).

The Vostok team was led to victory by the team coach of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) Sergey Spasennikov. The actions of the players of the "West" team were led by the champion of the CIS in 1992 in the St. Petersburg "Spartak" Gennady Shchetinin. Last season, he won the Sergey Belov League with the girls of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, that is, the final round (playoff) of the ASB championship.

Ion Urzyka (Vostok / UrFU, Yekaterinburg) and Nadezhda Kolesnikova (West / Peter Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, St. Petersburg) were recognized as the most valuable players (MVP). Vladislav Krushelnitsky (West, Crimean Federal University) won the competition in long-range throws, Pavel Tuev, a representative of Vostok from Novosibirsk, won the main prize in the competition in throws into the ring from above.

Also in the program of the Permian basketball holiday there was a "Match of Legends" in the format "Friends of the ASB" - "Ural Great". The result here is secondary (57:53) in favor of the "Friends of the ASB", but I would like to note what excellent shape the Olympic champions of Barcelona-1992 Irina Sumnikova from the guests and representing Ural Great Svetlana Antipova are still in. Both scored eight points with a high percentage of hits, showed decent speed. Naturally, those who in different years took part in the formation and rise of the team played for the Permians, and among the Friends of the ASB were the champions of Europe-2007 Sergey Bykov and Alexei Savrasenko, the participant of the 2008 Olympics Victor Keyru.

COMMENT

Alexander Konovalov, Chairman of the ASB Supervisory Board, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Constitutional Court:

- It is very important and symbolic for us that the day of the "Star Game" coincided with the birthday of the great Sergei Belov, who was directly involved in the creation of the Student Basketball Association. We are very glad that the sports festival took place in Perm, in a city where basketball is very much loved, thanks in part to the fact that Sergey Alexandrovich coached the championship team of masters Ural Great here.
