Sports director of Lokomotiv, Thomas Zorn, told the Championship that he was surprised by the statements of striker Ze Luis, who believes that the club illegally excluded him from the application for the season.

“I was very surprised by the statements of Ze: they are not true. Personally, I have nothing against him as a person, but we have a responsibility to the club. Keeping such a highly paid legionnaire with such a history of injury is irresponsible. Surely Ze Luis is offended and gave an interview on emotions, ”said Zorn.

“I can emphasize that the club approached the treatment and recovery of the striker as professionally as possible. This can be commented and confirmed in more detail by our director of medicine and development, Jorge Ivan, who was involved in the restoration of Ze and kept in touch with him and his agent on this topic, ”added the sports director of Lokomotiv.

Lokomotiv will replace Smolov with the forward of the Czech national team Football Ze Luis earlier in January terminated the contract with the Moscow club. On Monday, the striker said that Lokomotiv decided to exclude him from the application - without notice, against his will and against the law. The football player also claimed that the club was deceiving everyone about his injury, while Ze Luis himself was fully ready to play already in mid-October.

The forward moved to Lokomotiv in October 2020, played 15 matches for the team and scored one goal. Before Lokomotiv, he played in Russia for Spartak from 2015 to 2019 and won the title of Russian champions with the Red and Whites, as well as the country's Super Cup in 2017.
