Russia (bbabo.net) - Former defender of the Russian national team and football club "Zenith" Yuri Zhirkov will play for "Khimki" near Moscow.

This was announced on Wednesday by Roman Teryushkov, a member of the supervisory board of the Moscow Region club. The last club that Zhirkov played for was Zenit from St. Petersburg. In the summer of 2021 club, he was left without a club.

According to Teryushkov, the contract with 38-year-old Zhirkov was signed for six months with the possibility of an extension for one season.

“If Yuri wants to play further, then we will be ready to extend the agreement with him. If not, then we will offer him the opportunity to move to administrative work in the structure of the club,” RIA Novosti quoted Teryushkov as saying.

“Khimki” after the autumn part of the season take the last place in the RPL.
