Russian women injured in accident in Belarus are transported home

The First Deputy Minister of Health of Belarus Elena Krotkova said that two Russian women who were injured in an accident in the Vitebsk region are being transported to the Russian Federation. Her words are quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the republic.

According to her, three victims of the accident will remain in a hospital in Vitebsk on Tuesday evening.

“The condition of two of them is assessed as moderate. The state of health is closer to satisfactory. Two hours ago, an online consultation was held with colleagues from the Center for Neurosurgery named after Academician N.N. Burdenko and the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine - the tactics of managing patients were verified, an examination and consultation were carried out, laboratory tests, X-ray documentation, and the results of computed tomography were studied, ”said Krotkova.

Earlier, the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital, Yevgeny Matusevich, said that 42 patients are in the medical facility. He noted that their condition is stabilized, people are undergoing the necessary medical treatment.

An excursion bus, in which the Russians were, collided with a passenger car in the Vitebsk region on the afternoon of January 3. As a result of the accident, the bus overturned. The driver of the car died on the spot. The passengers and the bus driver were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. There are four children among the victims. In total, there were 42 people on the bus.
