According to the materials of the Investigative Committee, the former deputy head of the MREO of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bryansk region was in the dock. This person, whose name is not given in the UK, was in charge of the department for examination work. He not only received bribes on a regular basis, but also owned weapons illegally.

Together with him, his subordinates, also a former senior state inspector of the MREO, as well as a former, but ordinary inspector of the MREO, were accused of aiding and abusing official powers.

In addition to police officers, a civilian was also accused. In the materials, he is referred to as a resident of Bryansk. He was accused of mediating the transfer of bribes to police officers.

According to the materials of the investigation, which were later confirmed in court, bribes began to be transferred to police officers directly at their workplaces since November 2018. And this went on for several years. The "help for money" scheme was simple and reliable. The citizen allegedly answered the questions "with the complicity of the MREO inspector, who answered the examination questions on a computer with a remote connection."

So, residents of Bryansk who wanted to get a license successfully passed the theoretical part of the exam for the right to drive "without actually passing it" for cash.

Judging by the materials of the criminal case, both the boss and subordinates practiced such examinations without studying the theory.

There are a lot of episodes in the case, the amounts of bribes, dates and the number of citizens who were given the "go-ahead" to get behind the wheel in complete ignorance of the rules of driving.

The UK stressed that as a result of the actions of police officers, many residents of Bryansk were illegally issued driver's licenses.

But the investigative department said that the crime was discovered by operational officers of the FSB in the Bryansk region and the police - ORC SB UMVD in the region.

When a criminal case had already been initiated, during a search in September 2020 of the house of the deputy head of the MREO, a pistol illegally stored by him was found and confiscated. Two more copies of firearms were found next, in which the suspects "made structural changes in a home-made way."

The court's verdict turned out to be harsh - the former deputy head of the MREO and the former senior state inspector of the MREO was sentenced to seven years in prison with serving in a general regime correctional colony. In addition to the term, the convicts still have to pay a fine - 1 million 500 thousand rubles each. They are still deprived of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for a period of four years. They were also stripped of their ranks - lieutenant colonel and police captain.

The former simple inspector of the MREO received the least - a year and 6 months of imprisonment on probation with a probationary period of 1 year 6 months.

A mediator in the transfer of bribes to police officers received a considerable term. This person will spend five and a half years in a general regime penal colony. And he will also pay a fine - 750 thousand rubles.
