Italian chef Mirko Dzago said that Russian President Vladimir Putin prefers traditional cuisine the most. This is reported by the publication La Repubblica.

According to the chef, who has been working in Russia since last year, the country's president eats little, especially during public events.

Dzago also clarified about the preferences for the table with the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev.

“I cooked for Medvedev's 50th birthday and his son's 18th birthday. Medvedev is more of a gourmet, while Putin likes more traditional dishes,” said the Italian chef.

Also, according to Dzago, the Russian head likes mochetta. This is a cured, lean meat that is traditionally prepared in Valle d'Aosta.

As the chef concluded, there are certain similarities in Russian and Italian cuisines.
