Fever, runny nose and sore throat - the main manifestations of omicron, according to her, are mostly mild and do not require hospitalization or specific treatment. It is enough to take an antipyretic agent based on paracetamol at a temperature above 38-38.5 degrees, and for a runny nose, use vasoconstrictor drugs. A sore throat, Zhuravlev recalls, is relieved by a plentiful, warm, vitamin drink and medicines that reduce perspiration and discomfort. The doctor points out:

“Even if the patient has not consulted a doctor on his own, it is recommended to start treatment from the first days of symptoms. You can also, the doctor notes, add antiviral drugs containing active ingredients such as riamilovir, umifenovir. Interferon-alpha drops and sprays are also effective. They reduce the viral load, prevent the reproduction of the virus in the body, and also reduce the duration of the disease.

But if, with self-treatment, after two or three days, the state of health does not improve, new symptoms appear, you need to see a doctor. “However, often following these simple rules allows you to cope with the disease,” said Zhuravleva. She does not recommend taking antibiotics, as they are ineffective in this case.
