“This is a six-seat cell, among its neighbors two are accused of fraud, one of embezzlement, another one of a crime related to drug trafficking, and among the cellmates of the general is the driver of the former governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, who is accused of taking a bribe from the owner of a pharmaceutical Boris Shpigel’s Biotek holding, and the driver is involved in the case as an intermediary,” Khurudzhi said.

He also indicated that the general has been in jail since December 7, 2021. There is a TV set, a refrigerator in his cell, and the general's neighbors have no complaints about the conditions of detention, the human rights activist added.
