Russia (bbabo.net), - The head of the Armenian Catholic Church, Catholicos-Patriarch of Cilician Rafael Petros XXI, highly appreciated the peacekeeping efforts of the Russian Orthodox Church in resolving the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"His Beatitude thanked Metropolitan Hilarion for his hospitality, expressing gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and the entire Russian Orthodox Church, as well as the Russian state for consistent efforts to support persecuted and distressed Christians in different regions of the world," the Department's website says external church relations (DECR) of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The Primate of the Armenian Catholic Church also highly appreciated the participation of the Moscow Patriarchate in helping to resolve the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and in providing Russia with support to traditional Christian communities in the Middle East

According to him, Russia has always provided the most effective assistance to its persecuted brothers in the faith. “We remember this and are sincerely grateful for everything that you are doing for us,” the DECR website quoted the Catholicos as saying.

Recall that on January 6, Rafael Petros XXI visited believers in Russia for the first time in the status of the head of the church. The Armenian Catholic Church is one of the Eastern Catholic Churches that is in prayer communication with the Roman Catholic Church, but uses its own ritual. Raphael Petros XXI heads the Armenian Catholic Church since October 24, 2021.
