According to Izvestia, the State Duma proposes to allow energy sales companies to disconnect illegal miners from power supply. The information was confirmed by Valery Seleznev, First Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee.

Earlier, a similar proposal was made by the Association of Guaranteed Suppliers and Energy Retail Companies (GP and ESC). Representatives of the Association clarified that the business wants to indicate in the contracts for technical connection to networks the purpose of using electricity and disconnect subscribers if the resource is spent on other tasks.

In addition, ISPs will be required to provide power supply companies with information about the location of IP addresses from which mining is carried out. The document says that it is worth finalizing the conceptual series of existing legislation, for example, introducing a definition of household electricity consumption not for profit.

Previously, the government supported the concept, which does not provide for a ban on cryptocurrencies, but for the identification of customers and control over payment operators. It is also known that legislative regulation of mining is being prepared in Russia.

The head of the State Duma Industry Committee, Vladimir Gutenev, said that the tax on personal income when miners withdraw cryptocurrency into the traditional finance system cannot be less than 15%.
