NVIDIA still hasn't announced a release date for the RTX 3090 Ti, although it promised January 27

During a special keynote at CES 2022, Jeff Fischer promised that NVIDIA would provide more details on its upcoming flagship RTX 3090 Ti GPU on January 27th, however, no details have yet been provided.

The company hasn't confirmed a price or launch date for the graphics card, though it did list December 27 as its release date in partner documents sent out in December.

Currently, the reviewers are waiting for their samples, the supply of which was unexpectedly suspended. Several specialized media reported that samples for testing were supposed to arrive at them last Monday, January 24, but this did not happen.

In mid-January, it became known that NVIDIA asked all partners to suspend production of the RTX 3090 Ti due to hardware/BIOS issues. The company does not disclose what exactly the essence of the problems is.

The RTX 3090 Ti is based on the GA102 GPU with 10752 CUDA cores. It is also the first NVIDIA GPU with 24GB of GDDR6X memory and 21Gbps. With a 384-bit memory bus, it delivers up to 1 TB/s of bandwidth. The performance upgrade comes at the expense of higher power consumption, which reportedly tops out at 450W by default, and the graphics card is connected via a 16-pin power connector.

The MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X version has an increased power consumption of 480W and requires a 1kW PSU. MSI has used three 8-pin power connectors instead of a single PCIe Gen.

On January 16, retailers from Germany and Switzerland revealed the starting prices for the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. They turned out to be 30% more expensive than the RTX 3090. MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GAMING X TRIO will cost from $3600 (280 thousand rubles), and MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X from $3700 (285 thousand rubles) to $4500 (345 thousand rubles).
