Kia received approval for the release in Russia of the updated Kia K9 executive sedan, which had previously been introduced in our country under the name K900. This model will receive a new brand logo and various improvements.
In Russia, Kia K9 will be offered only with the most popular V6 3.3 GDI engine with 249 hp. with torque up to 347 Nm. The engine is paired with an automatic 8-speed gearbox, as well as an all-wheel drive system.
The length of the updated Kia K9 sedan is 5120 mm, the width and height are 1915 mm and 1505 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 3106 mm. The car received new 19-inch wheels, a massive radiator grille. At the rear, a horizontal light line connected the lights, and the license plate was moved to a wide rear bumper.
The model introduced in South Korea received a multimedia entertainment system screen enlarged to 14.5 inches. It provides over-the-air software updates and remote control from a smartphone. Users can not only start the car from a smartphone, but also connect to all-round cameras. The car recognizes the driver by fingerprint, remembering the individual settings of the seat, mirrors, climate control and music. The car received a second-level autopilot system as standard. In fact, we are talking about adaptive cruise control with lane keeping function. The car also received the first system that, using radars and cameras, analyzes the traffic ahead and adjusts the driving mode for it, increasing safety and saving fuel.
Whether these and other features will be presented in the Russian version of the Kia K9 remains to be seen.
