Overtake Tesla: Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance will release 35 electric car models by 2030

Renault Group, Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, members of one of the largest automotive alliances in the world, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, have unveiled plans to work together until 2030.

The alliance is set to offer the widest range of electric vehicles built on five common platforms. Renault Group, Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have set 35 new all-electric vehicles on the market by 2030.

The Alliance has defined a strategy focused on all-electric, smart and connected transport and is making joint investments for the benefit of all three members and their customers.

One of the main goals of the alliance is to bring the share of use of common platforms to 80% by 2026. Mitsubishi Motors will strengthen its position in Europe with the launch of two models based on Renault's bestsellers.

In addition, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi will invest 23 billion euros in the development of electric vehicles over the next five years. Nissan will launch a new electric vehicle based on the CMF-BEV platform to replace the Micra in Europe. The car will be produced at the Renault ElectriCity production center in northern France.

In addition, Nissan will lead the development of innovative solid-state batteries for the benefit of all members of the Alliance. And Renault will take over the development of a unified electrical and electronic architecture and the production of the first car with fully programmable parameters by 2025.
