DJI Mavic 3 Latest Firmware Update Enables Panorama Mode and Digital Zoom for Standard Video Recording

Last November, DJI released the long-awaited Mavic 3 series of drones. This comes more than three years after the release of the Mavic 2 drones, so the lack of some of the features promised in promotional materials in the new drones was a bit of a disappointment. However, the manufacturer promised to add innovations over time by releasing a software update. The release date for the update was January 2022, and today the world's leading drone manufacturer delivered on its promise by releasing firmware update v01.00.0500 for both iOS and Android. For the sake of fairness, we can recall that update v01.00.0400 was released in mid-December, but this year there are noticeably more innovations and fixes.

The DJI Fly app runs on the Mavic 3 series, and the update to version 1.5.8 will allow users to access the following features:

QuickShots modes including Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, Boomerang and Asteroid

panoramic mode;

Continuous shooting;

Digital zoom for normal (N) video mode;

Sharpened images when shooting at high magnification with a TV camera .jpg photos only);

Added auxiliary color display for D-Log profile;

Added zoom and D-Log for FocusTrack when recording;

Added 4K/60p and manual EI adjustment for MasterShots;

Added support for setting RTH height for Advanced RTH;

Added support for QuickTransfer;

Optimized color accuracy;

Optimized image area for Timelapse (Hyperlapse) photos;

Added DJI RC Pro support for pure HDMI video output;

Added DJI RC Pro support for video caching and uploading source video to an external SD card.

In addition, minor bugs have been fixed.
