Media: Facebook is also developing methods for integrating NFT

The journalists, citing their sources, said that Meta is working on features that allow users of their social networks to post NFTs. There is also information that the IT giant is preparing to launch its platform for buying and selling items with non-fungible tokens.

The Financial Times said that Meta is working on plans to integrate NFTs into Facebook and Instagram. The company is developing a feature that allows users to post NFTs to their accounts and receive visual confirmation of item ownership. The sources also spoke about the work on creating a platform for the sale and purchase of non-fungible tokens.

Journalists emphasize that all Meta projects are still at an early stage and the company's plans may change, and products may not survive to release. Popular NFT marketplace OpenSea raised about $300 million this month, and analysts say Meta wants to join the business. Also, according to them, the IT giant is lagging behind its competitors - Twitter this week launched an integration with NFT in its social network, and Reddit released its own collection of avatars with non-fungible tokens.

Also, experts pay attention to the statement of the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, that he began to actively study the nature and internal structure of NFT. And two insiders at once confirmed that the function for posting NFTs on Instagram is currently undergoing internal testing.

On January 20, Twitter announced the integration of NFT with the social network. Premium Twitter followers now have the option to set their avatar as an image with non-fungible tokens.
