Rostelecom switches to remote work from January 17, 30% of employees will go to offices and only with QR codes

According to Interfax, Rostelecom has switched from hybrid mode to 70% remote work since January 17. Only 30% of employees will be allowed into the company's offices. And only those who have QR codes.

In 2021, Rostelecom had a hybrid work format. Most employees could work from home part of the time and spend part of their working days in the office. Now, due to the sharp increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia, as well as the spread of the new Omicron strain, the company decided to reduce the number of employees in the offices.

A representative of Rostelecom explained to the publication that the company, as part of a continuous technological cycle, will continue to work and fulfill all obligations to customers and partners as usual.

The Tele2 company, which belongs to Rostelecom, told the publication that the telecom operator continues to work in hybrid mode, and all necessary precautions are observed in its offices. The press service of the mobile operator Tele2 (owned by Rostelecom) reported that the company still has a hybrid work format in which employees combine work from home and office, up to vaccination and revaccination of employees right in the office.

In 2020, Rostelecom has already transferred most of its office employees to remote work, using its own infrastructure for remote connection to the company's information resources. The company then clarified that they were able to quickly and in just three months organize everything necessary for remote work of about 60 thousand employees.

In mid-January 2022, Sber announced that it would transfer half of its employees to remote work from January 17, 2022 due to the spread of the new Omicron strain. The head of Sberbank, German Gref, also confirmed that all meetings from next week at the bank will be held only by videoconferencing, and personal meetings have been cancelled. The representative of Sberbank did not explain the duration of the new restrictions on the working hours of the staff.
