The Board of Directors of VK includes the Chairman of the Board of SOGAZ and the top manager of Gazprom-Media

On January 11, 2022, VK ​​announced a change in the company's Board of Directors. It includes, as non-executive directors, Chairman of the Board of SOGAZ Anton Ustinov and Director of the Legal Directorate of JSC Gazprom-Media Holding Dmitry Chudakov.

Ustinov and Chudakov replaced Vladimir Gabrielyan and Dmitry Sergeev (co-director general of AliExpress Russia) who left the Board of Directors of the company. Gabrielyan remained in the company as the first deputy general director of VK.

On December 15, Sergei Kupriyanov, press secretary of the chairman of the board of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, joined the VK Board of Directors as a non-executive director. Kupriyanov replaced Sber's board member Alexandra Buriko on the VK Board of Directors. Representatives of "Sberbank" no longer remained in the leadership of VK.

On December 13, 2021, the board of directors of VK (formerly Mail.Ru Group) unanimously approved the appointment of Vladimir Kirienko as the new CEO of the company. Previously, he served as Vice President at Rostelecom.

On December 3, VK CEO Boris Dobrodeyev announced his resignation. He ran the company since 2014 after leaving the management of the social network of its founder Pavel Durov. The change of the VK CEO took place after the change in the shareholder structure of MF Technologies - USM sold its entire stake in VK to SOGAZ, and then Gazprombank transferred control over VK shares to the Gazprom-Media holding.

On November 24, Sberbank said that it had closed the deal to sell to Gazprombank its 36% stake in MF Technologies JSC, which controls 57.3% of VK's voting shares (Mail.Ru Group). Sberbank and VK will remain partners in another joint venture, O2O Holding, which includes Citymobil, Delivery Club and FoodPlex, a digital platform for the restaurant market.
