All states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have come out in a united front, supporting Kazakhstan's appeal for assistance in connection with the unrest. This was stated by the country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.

He noted that in fact, this was the first time when the CSTO peacekeeping potential was actually used to ensure the security, stability and integrity of one of the member states. At the same time, he stressed that not only military, but also moral support of the CSTO partners is very important.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, the Organization has shown its relevance and effectiveness. The arrival of the peacekeeping forces helped to recapture Alma-Ata from the terrorists.

The President of Kazakhstan thanked Russian leader Vladimir Putin for the prompt resolution of the issue of sending a CSTO peacekeeping contingent to the republic.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan Tokayev said that the riots in Kazakhstan were an attempt at a coup d'etat - the main goal of the terrorists was to seize power. He added that the crisis that happened in January was the largest in the entire history of the country's independence.
