Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The Kazakh authorities report the detention of nearly 6,000 people on suspicion of involvement in the unrest in the country.

In the message of the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is indicated that a significant proportion of the detainees are foreigners. Their citizenship and exact number were not specified.

In turn, the country's Foreign Ministry said that the riots were attended, among other things, by persons who fought in "hot spots" in the ranks of "radical Islamist groups." The department did not specify which organizations are in question.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of State of Kazakhstan Yerlan Karin on the air of the Khabar-24 TV channel called the incident in his country "a conspiracy of internal and external forces."
