The head of state asked his compatriots to show prudence and not succumb to "provocations from within and from without, the euphoria of rallies and permissiveness." According to him, calls to attack the offices of military and civilian departments are absolutely illegal.

“This is a crime that can be punished. Power will not fall, ”Tokayev said.

At the same time, he added that all the legal demands of the protesters will be taken into account by the authorities.

Earlier Tokayev appealed to the protesters in Aktau with an appeal not to be led by destructive elements.

At the same time, the protesters in Aktau, to whom the country's government promised to reduce gas prices, made a new demand that the Kazakh president should come to meet them.

In the west of Kazakhstan, for several days, mass protests have not subsided due to the rise in prices for liquefied gas. Since the New Year, the cost of gas at local gas stations has increased dramatically. If last year its retail price in this region was 50-60 tenge per liter (about 10 rubles), then since the beginning of this year prices at local gas stations have increased to 120 tenge per liter (about 21 rubles).
