Minsk protests over Ukrainian drone launch

A strong protest in connection with the purposeful launch of an unmanned aerial vehicle on the territory of Belarus was declared by the country's Foreign Ministry to Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kizim, who was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on February 3.

According to news portals, a Ukrainian drone illegally crossed the state border of the Republic of Belarus on January 24, 2022, was recorded in the airspace of the country and subsequently forced to land by specialists of the Armed Forces.

"Based on the analysis of on-board equipment data, it has been established for certain that it was launched from the territory of Ukraine in order to conduct illegal reconnaissance activities over the Brestsky military training ground. The Ukrainian side was informed that with these unfriendly steps it deliberately provokes an escalation of the situation in the region, which does not contribute to civilized bilateral dialogue. The Belarusian side demanded that such destructive actions be prevented in the future," the Foreign Ministry stressed.
