Putin did not agree with Macron's words about the illegality of the annexation of Crimea

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to the words of French leader Emmanuel Macron, who said that Russia violated the territorial integrity of Ukraine during the annexation of Crimea. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“Mr. President, and in a conversation, probably, Emmanuel will not be angry with me, he said: well, you yourself violated the territorial integrity, you took on certain obligations, starting from 1975, the Helsinki Act and so on, the last document was adopted in In 2010 in Astana, where it is said about the complete security of all, it is impossible to create safe conditions by violating the security of others, but you yourself violated the territorial integrity, such an acute issue, as it were, of Ukraine. Not certainly in that way. Or not at all,” Putin said at a press conference following a meeting with the French president.

Putin noted that Russia's actions in Crimea in late winter and early spring 2014 were associated with a coup d'état in Ukraine, which was supported by Western countries.

“Have we carried out any operations in Crimea or somewhere else with a normal country, with a normal government? No, they never did it, they didn’t even keep it in their heads. But why did Western countries support the coup? From now on, for us, power is in Ukraine, the source of power is a coup d'état, and not the will of the people, ”he stressed.

In the same speech, the Russian leader said that Ukraine's attack on Crimea would lead to an armed conflict between Russia and NATO.
