“The United States has requested an open meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine on Monday,” the source said.

Earlier, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland called on China to influence Russia to resolve the situation around Ukraine through diplomacy.

Prior to this, Nuland said that Nord Stream 2 would be stopped in the event of Russia's "invasion" of Ukraine. According to her, the United States is united with the allies that if Moscow escalates tensions, there will be a "quick and hard" response.
