Russia (bbabo.net), - Moscow continues to restore the building of the Moscow Post Office on Myasnitskaya Street - it is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.

The Myasnitskaya post office appeared in 1785, when an estate was rented for it. The post office dealt not only with mail, but also with parcels and money orders. At the end of the 18th century, the nearby lands were bought out - and the territory of the post office increased.

The main building on Myasnitskaya Street was rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century and has come down to us in this form. Participated in the project of 1910 - 1912 and the engineer, the future author of the tower on Shabolovka Vladimir Shukhov - it is believed that the so-called "lantern" was designed by him.

As noted in the Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage, the vault of the "lantern" consists of several tiers, and some of the glass has been lost. Specialists extract the preserved ones in order to make new ones according to their model.

The most difficult at this stage was the installation of scaffolding that supports the "lantern" during the restoration. A total of 212 piles were required. At the same time, as the restorers say, 16 columns and metlakh tiles in the operating room are perfectly preserved.

In the 2000s, the post office housed various institutions that rented space and caused great harm. The building of the Moscow Post Office has been hidden by a banner for several years. Here is how it looked, for example, in 2015:
