Russian Ambassador to Cuba Andrei Guskov said that the possibility of deploying Russian military infrastructure in Cuba is a delicate topic. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“Regarding the possibility of deploying Russian military infrastructure in Cuba, given the sensitivity of this topic, it cannot be announced in advance. This is in the order of things in relations between any states,” the diplomat said.

According to him, Cuban laws do not directly prohibit the deployment of foreign military infrastructure in the country.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that now one should not discuss the possibility of the appearance of Russian military bases in Latin America, in particular, in Cuba and Venezuela, since such talk provokes tension in the world.

In turn, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the United States would quickly respond to a possible Russian military presence in Cuba.
