Russia (bbabo.net), - The Golden Mask Festival opens the 2022 regional program with the performance "Gorbachev" by the Theater of Nations. On January 28 and 29, a production by Alvis Hermanis starring Yevgeny Mironov and Chulpan Khamatova will be presented in Nizhny Novgorod on the stage of the Theater for Young Spectators. In total, the festival will pass through 14 cities of Russia.
After Nizhny Novgorod, the "Golden Mask" will continue its regional program in May: performances awarded by theater award experts will be shown in Yekaterinburg, Samara, Togliatti and Novokuibyshevsk. And in June, thanks to cooperation with the International Platonov Arts Festival, the festival will visit Voronezh. In August and September, the best performances await in Ulan-Ude.
In the fall, after a long break, the "Golden Mask" will again come to Krasnoyarsk. Tours will traditionally take place in Petrozavodsk, Kostomuksha and Cherepovets. The northernmost point of the festival will be Norilsk. For the first time, the performances will be seen by residents of the small town of Shatura near Moscow. The regional program will end at the end of November in St. Petersburg.

The Russian national theater award "Golden Mask" was established in 1993 by the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation and is awarded to performances of all genres of theatrical art: drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta and musical, puppet theater. "Golden Mask" is a theatrical festival that in the spring of each year presents the most significant performances from Russian cities in Moscow. Golden Mask pays special attention to touring activities, since 2000 organizing the program "Best Performances in Russian Cities" and making available the best examples of modern theatrical art to viewers in various parts of the country.
