The mayor of Kharkiv appealed to the townspeople after Zelensky's statement about the occupation

Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov wrote on Telegram that the city was, is and will be Ukrainian.

“Dear Kharkiv citizens! Kharkiv has been and will be a Ukrainian city whose inhabitants are citizens of a united and indivisible Ukraine. And anyone who encroaches on the capture of Kharkiv must understand that not only Kharkiv residents, but all Ukrainians will stand up to defend their beloved city, the publication says.

Terekhov noted that Kharkov has the strength and means to resist the "potential invader." There is nothing to worry about, he assured Kharkiv residents, adding that the city "will continue to successfully develop under a peaceful sky."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with the Washington Post that Russia's attempt to seize Kharkiv would be the beginning of large-scale military action. According to Zelensky's press secretary, Sergei Nikiforov, the Ukrainian leader described one of the possible scenarios for the development of tension on the border with Russia.
