The Japanese Foreign Ministry could not answer the question about the invasion of Russia in Ukraine

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi avoided answering about possible actions in the event of an escalation in Ukraine, TASS reports.

“As for the question about our approach in the event of a Russian invasion, it involves a hypothetical event, so I will prefer not to answer it. In the meantime, we will act appropriately,” Hayashi said.

The head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry noted that in his January 19 appeal to Japanese citizens in Ukraine, he urged caution.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine began sending instructions to enterprises operating in Kiev in case of a war.

In recent months, the Western media, as well as in Ukraine, have been claiming that Russia is allegedly preparing a "large-scale invasion" of Ukraine. In Moscow, such allegations have been repeatedly rejected.

Prior to this, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky posted a video message to the nation on his Facebook page, where he urged Ukrainians not to panic because of the confrontation with Russia.
