Information about the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, which will take place on the territory of Belarus in February, was brought to the briefing for attaches accredited to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus on Tuesday.

As part of the working meeting, which was held by Assistant Minister of Defense of Belarus Oleg Voinov, attention was drawn to the fact that the upcoming operational and combat training activities are being carried out against the backdrop of the aggravation of the military-political situation in the world, the ongoing growth of tension in Europe, including at the western and southern borders The Republic of Belarus.

The military department clarified that the check itself will take place in two stages. Until February 9, it is planned to work out a number of issues, including the redeployment and creation of groupings of troops in threatened directions, the organization and implementation of the protection and defense of important state and military facilities, the protection of the state border in the airspace within the framework of the unified regional air defense system of Belarus and Russia, the assessment of readiness and ability forces and means on duty for air defense, including the joint air defense training and combat center, to perform combat training tasks using control targets.

At the second stage of verification, from February 10 to February 20, a joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held. During the exercise, the issues of strengthening sections of the state border on possible directions of illegal penetration into the territory of the Republic of Belarus of armed groups of militants, blocking the channels for the delivery of weapons, ammunition and other means that can be used to destabilize the situation in the country with the occupation of designated borders and the equipment of checkpoints; search, blocking and destruction of illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy in the designated areas of responsibility, organization of interaction and comprehensive support. In addition, individual issues of post-conflict settlement will be worked out.

The ministry explained that it is planned to involve part of the forces and means of the Armed Forces of Belarus, as well as military command and control bodies, a number of military units and divisions of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, in the upcoming inspection.

As for the practical actions of the troops, they will take place at the Obuz-Lesnovsky, Osipovichsky, Brest, Gozhsky and Domanovsky training grounds, as well as in separate areas of the area. It is planned to use the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi.

Voinov concluded that the main result of the measures being taken will be an assessment of the ability of the military command and control bodies and troops to fulfill the tasks of ensuring the military security of the Union State. He recalled that the options for using a regional grouping of troops to ensure the military security of the SG are practiced by the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on a regular basis during joint exercises.

Detailed planning of the practical actions of the troops during the inspection, the Assistant Minister of Defense said, has not yet been completed and some changes are possible, adding that based on its parameters (the number of personnel involved, the main weapons and equipment systems), the upcoming inspection is not subject to notification in accordance with with the Vienna Document 2011.
