Turkish football player hopes Erdogan will visit the opening of the mosque he built in Kazan

Russia and CIS (bbabo.net) - Former Rubin midfielder Gekdeniz Karadeniz spoke about plans to open a mosque he built in Kazan. According to the Turkish football player, local residents insist that a religious object be named after him.

“There were none in the area where I built the mosque. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave me a plot in this area, and Allah gave us the opportunity to build this mosque. She was called "Karadeniz", the inhabitants of Tatarstan wanted her to be called that way. I didn't ask for it, they offered. I agreed,” the footballer said in an interview with the Turkish edition of Taka Gazet.

Karadeniz said that Vladimir Putin would take part in the opening of the mosque, and also expressed the hope that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would also attend this event. “The opening hasn't happened yet. Of course, I want our president, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to do this. Tatarstan loves our president. They want him to be present at the opening. If our president plans to visit Russia, I hope that we will include the opening of the mosque in the program,” Karadeniz said.

The Turkish midfielder as part of Rubin Kazan became a two-time champion of Russia and was also remembered for the decisive goal against Barcelona in the match (2:1) at the Camp Nou, Tatar-inform news agency reports.
