The restoration of the Polytechnic University was also delayed and lasted eight years. The facades of the museum have already been opened, the space next to it on Lubyanka Square. The main exposition, where measuring instruments, models of spacecraft, cars, inventions of masters of different eras from Ivan Kulibin to the present day, were presented, is closed.

And in April last year, Dmitry Stulov, deputy head of the Moscow City Planning Policy Department, announced that the museum would be opened in 2021, but this never happened.

It became known yesterday that the contract for the restoration and reconstruction of the Polytechnic Museum was extended until July 1, 2022. RBC refers to the Federal Targeted Investment Program, which states that the museum will be opened only in 2025. The press service of the museum noted that 2025 is indicated as the maximum year and the task is to bring the museum into operation.

Another transfer is associated with an increase in the cost of restoration work.

This year, the Polytechnic Museum will celebrate its 150th anniversary, but all anniversary events will be held at other venues, in particular at VDNKh, where part of the exposition was moved before the restoration began.
