Russia - Sanitary doctors told how to eat properly in cold weather

Russia (bbabo.net) - In winter, especially on frosty days, the diet should be special. This is reported by the department of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg in a memo prepared in connection with the next cold snap that hit the northern capital.

In frosts, the body's energy consumption increases, therefore, sanitary doctors say, food should be more high-calorie. Experts advise to give preference to fatty fish (it should be eaten two to three times a week), add vegetable oils to food, eat cereals with bran or sprouts, eat vegetables, fruits and nuts. These products will help you recover energy costs.

To maintain immunity, it is important to eat lean meat, turkey, dairy products and legumes. But, they say in the St. Petersburg department of Rospotrebnadzor, it is difficult to get absolutely all vitamins from food, therefore it is important to use vitamin complexes in winter. But in no case should you prescribe them yourself on your own, a doctor should select vitamins.

In the cold, dehydration occurs. Therefore, you should observe the drinking regime - consume one and a half to two liters of liquid per day. In Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg they say that it is best to drink compotes, jelly, fruit drinks and herbal teas - these drinks are not only tasty, but also full of vitamins.

For those who adhere to strict diets, sanitary doctors advise to temporarily relax restrictions so as not to weaken the body. Also, experts urge not to give up animal protein in cold weather, this can negatively affect the ability to resist infectious diseases.

The proposed diet is as follows: three main meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner, and two snacks.

Sanitary doctors advise eating fruits several times a day, and vegetables - at least twice a day. Once as a salad, the second as a side dish. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut or pickled apples can be an additional source of fiber, preservatives, and probiotics. They can be added to meals or consumed on their own.

But experts advise giving up sweets, fast food and dishes with added trans fats: even if such food gives a feeling of satiety, it does not add health to the body.
