The expert will talk about the struggle of Islamic legal thought against extremism

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Renowned Soviet and Russian jurist, specialist in Islamic law, Doctor of Law Leonid Syukiyainen will deliver a course of lectures on “Islamic legal thought against extremism and terrorism”, which starts on Wednesday, January 12.

The expert will tell you in detail about the causes of religious extremism and terrorism, which may have political, historical, social and ideological implications.

In this regard, it will be said about the relevance of the Islamic ideological potential for combating radical manifestations and the importance of international cooperation.

The role of Sharia against extremism will be considered separately. In particular, the discussion will focus on the Islamic prohibition of depriving a person of life, the importance of protecting the lives and interests of believers, and the permissibility of military action only in case of repelling aggression.

The lectures will be held online on Wednesdays from January 12 to February 16 with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Iranian University named after Allame Tabatabai.
