Russia - Representative of the Russian Federation in the IMF called the country's macroeconomic position the best in the world

Russia (bbabo.net) - In terms of macroeconomic indicators, Russia's position is the best in the world. This was stated by the country's executive director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Alexei Mozhin.

According to him, this situation is due to the low level of public debt and a surplus budget in 2021.

"In 2020 there was a deficit, revenues fell, expenses increased, social support was provided. And in 2021 we will have a budget with a surplus," he explained (quoted by TASS).

In addition, savings in the National Welfare Fund (NWF) have almost reached the 10% mark, Mozhin recalled. Russia also has a strict fiscal rule and the central bank's foreign exchange reserves are high.
