"European Commission remains in solidarity with the population of Moldova in these especially difficult times, "said Paolo Gentiloni, a member of the EC for economics, in connection with this decision on financing.

At the same time, he pointed out that, as usual, the financial assistance is conditioned by the fact that Moldova will take measures to "solve some of the most urgent problems that hinder its economic development."

Brussels clarifies that the new macro-financial assistance is a continuation of support for this country, within which the EU has already allocated Chisinau since 2017 a total of 160 million euros.
