Russia (bbabo.net), - The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation expects an increase in passenger air transportation in 2022 compared to the previous year. This was stated by Deputy Minister Igor Chalik, RIA Novosti reports.

At the same time, Chalik noted that it is very difficult to accurately predict anything due to the ongoing pandemic and the new Omicron strain.

“You can see what is happening with the omicron, so it is very difficult to predict anything,” said Igor Chalik.

In total, in 2021, Russian airlines carried about 112 million passengers, which is 62% more than in the same period in 2020. And in 2019, this figure was 119.3 million people. In 2022, the volume of air transportation subsidies in Russia will amount to a record 27.5 billion rubles.
