The European Commission wants to invite Ukraine to certify Nord Stream 2

The European Commission plans to involve Ukraine in the process of certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Interfax reports, citing Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.

“It was decided that Ukraine will be invited to the certification of Nord Stream 2 when this issue reaches the European Commission. This is the official position that we heard today, for which I am grateful to our partners,” said Galushchenko.

Earlier, Germany said that the country urgently needs Nord Stream 2.

Nord Stream 2 is a two-line gas pipeline. The length of each of them is 1.2 thousand km. They run from the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) to the German Greifswald. The total capacity of the gas pipeline will be 55 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year.

Prior to this, Bundestag deputy from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) Ralf Stegner said that there are currently no obstacles to launch the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, it is only necessary to fulfill a number of requirements.
