The Bank of Russia will soon present a modernized banknote of 100 rubles. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Mikhail Alekseev, according to RIA Novosti.
“When a significant event happens, and one of such events will happen very soon, I think that in the coming months, maybe even weeks, there will be a press conference where a new banknote will be presented,” said a representative of the Bank of Russia.
Until 2025, the Central Bank plans to carry out a whole range of measures to improve the quality, protection and durability of Russian banknotes. In 2022, the regulator should put into circulation 100 rubles. On the front side, one of the Moscow sights will be depicted, on the other side, a symbolic place of the Central District of Russia.
In 2023, it is planned to upgrade 1000 and 5000 rubles, in 2024 - 500 rubles, and in 2025 - 10 and 50 rubles. The theme of the federal districts will be used in the design of the modernized banknotes. The flows of fakes inside the country come mainly from the North Caucasus, and the bulk is made abroad, experts said. Modern technology allows fraudsters to counterfeit equipment for the production of high-quality banknotes. The victims are mostly elderly and visually impaired.
