Russia (bbabo.net), - In the coming months or even weeks, the Bank of Russia will introduce a new banknote in denominations of 100 rubles. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Mikhail Alekseev.

“When a significant event happens, and one of such events will happen very soon, I think that in the coming months, maybe even weeks, there will be a press conference where a new banknote will be presented,” TASS reports.

Earlier it was reported that the new one hundred rubles would be introduced into circulation gradually, since banks need time to set up ATMs and calculating machines for it. At the same time, the updated bill will differ from the previous one not only in the image - Red Square, Zaryadye, the Shukhov Tower and the main building of Moscow State University will appear on it - but also in a shade of color.

In addition to the 100-ruble bill, the regulator intends to modernize banknotes of five denominations. New 1,000 and 5,000 rubles will be circulated in 2023, 500 rubles - in 2024, 10 and 50 rubles - in 2025.
