Jimin, lead singer and dancer of K-pop group BTS, has been hospitalized with an appendix infection and tested positive for coronavirus, Reuters reports citing Big Hit Music.

Park Jimin was admitted to the hospital on January 30th. He complained of acute abdominal pain and sore throat.

On January 31, Jimin underwent surgery for appendicitis. “The operation was successful, Jimin is recovering from the procedures,” the agency said, assuring that the coronavirus infection in the 26-year-old star proceeds easily and quickly.

The artist will spend several days in the hospital. He is at least the fourth of the seven BTS members to contract the coronavirus.

Earlier it was reported that the musicians of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra were massively infected with the coronavirus, despite this, conductor Valery Gergiev plans to go on tour to Spain. As one of the musicians told reporters, the outbreak of coronavirus infection occurred after a performance in the capital's Zaryadye park, after which the number of cases went to dozens.
