Russia - Gogol Center will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Yuri Levitansky with a premiere

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Moscow theater "Gogol Center" is preparing a premiere for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the poet Yuri Levitansky - the play "I do not participate in the war." A new production directed by Alexei Agranovsky will be presented to the audience on February 10. Tickets are already on sale.

h4So, we are reminded in the Gogol Center, the poet Yuri Levitansky from the distant 1970s represented our time. On January 22, 2022, Yuri Levitansky would have turned 100 years old. Why not find out whether we today have really become people from other planets, or whether our generations are connected much more closely. The director Aleksey Agranovich, the playwright Yegor Prokopyev and Veniamin Smekhov, who worked with the performers of poetry, took on the realization of this difficult task on the stage.

"This is not a poetic evening where friends and admirers of the author will read their favorite poems and share their memories. In this performance, artists of different generations - from Konstantin Raikin to Nikita Kukushkin - will seek and find common ground between the present and the past, identify similar unchanging features of the modern world and world of the second half of the 20th century," they tell about the performance at the Gogol Center.

Alexey Agranovich draws attention to the special inexplicable confidential intonation of Levitansky's poems. "In the play "I'm not participating in the war" we try to find this intonation, rethink and understand how it can sound today, more than 50 years later. We will look for it with the help of a large team of our own and guest actors, live music, poetry, prose and video", - quotes the words of the director TASS.

The main source of inspiration and search for new meanings was the collection of poems by Yuri Levitansky "Kinematograf", published in 1970 and brought the poet all-Union fame and love of readers. The main scene of the performance will be a kind of video archive, in which, like detailed and vivid memories, reels of film are stored.

The cast of the performance is also impressive - Konstantin Raikin, Yuri Stoyanov, Alexander Filippenko, Filipp Avdeev, Svetlana Bragarnik, Irina Vybornova, Alexander Gorchilin, Nikita Elenev, Yana Irteneva, Nikita Kukushkin, Svetlana Mamreshevav and Semyon Steinberg.

Tickets for the performance "I am not participating in the war" are already available on the theater's official website.
